SCHNEIDERS Diopter Split Gen2 are standard diopter elements that are precisely cut into two halves and mounted in rings. They create an image with two planes of focus instead of one. With the help of our Diopters Split Gen2 filters you get a sharp image of both the foreground taken through the diopter) and the background (taken through the uncovered half of your camera’s lens).
They highlight the relationship of the main subject to an object in the background without reducing the aperture. They are ideal for shooting in the dark or indoors when it is difficult to get more light. The splitscreen effect is also popular for storytelling, to draw the viewers attention to an object in the background while the main scene remains unchanged in the foreground. These diopter filters are ideal for unconsciously evoking a certain mood in the viewer.
