As cine lenses in LPL mount become more common, including the Leitz ELSIE and Leitz HUGO native LPL lenses, Leitz have developed a strong, smart, and reliable LPL mount for the Sony VENICE, VENICE 2 and BURANO cameras.
Due to the large amount of glass behind the mount of the lenses, the Leitz Venice LPL Mount is currently the ONLY option for using Leitz HUGO, as well as ARRI Signature Primes/Zooms with the V Impression filters, on the Sony VENICE and VENICE 2 cameras. It offers more flexibility and compatibility than any other mount in the market.
Designed to function similarly to the original VENICE mount, the Leitz LPL Mount connects securely to the camera body with six screws. Other solutions that use the camera’s E mount cannot adequately support the weight of professional LPL mount lenses.
The LPL Mount is made of high-grade aluminum and steel with a stainless steel lens mount designed to accommodate all LPL lenses on the market.
Productions needing to quickly and securely switch between LPL and PL lens formats can do so by adding the Leitz LPL to PL Mount Adapter. This adapter will be a requirement for many productions and is designed for flawless compatibility to allow crews to change lenses quickly and safely while protecting the camera and the lens. Compatibility with other 3rd party LPL to PL adapters is not confirmed.
The Leitz LPL Mount for Venice, as well as the LPL to PL Mount Adapter, each feature contacts for /i and ARRI LDS-2 metadata so lens information continues to be passed seamlessly to the camera with the LPL mount by itself or when the adapter is added.
